On March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued historic arrest warrants for dictator Vladimir Putin & Maria Lvova-Belova for the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
They are responsible for war crimes under the Rome Statute. The evidence, testimonies, public statements by Lvova-Belova confirmed the deportation of #Ukrainian children into Russia.
More than 1.6 million Ukrainian children remain under Russian control, including those who have been forcibly deported & those trapped in occupied territories. Their Ukrainian identity is under daily attack, & they are being forcibly recruited into military organisations and propaganda activities.
The ICC warrant is just the first step toward justice. For true peace, every child must be safely returned home, those responsible held accountable & safeguards established to prevent these atrocities from happening again.
