Inside a glacier cave under the Canwell Glacier in the Alaska Range, looking out through a small entrance framed by deep blue ice. This incredible cave collapsed a couple of years ago, but new ones are always forming in the lower moraine of the glacier.

A view from inside a glacier cave beneath the Canwell Glacier in the Alaska Range, looking out through a small, rounded exit. The ice walls surrounding the entrance are deep blue with layered textures, smooth curves, and embedded debris. The ice is illuminated by soft, diffused light filtering through from outside. The cave floor is covered in dark, rocky moraine material. Through the opening, a bright, rocky landscape is visible, contrasting sharply with the cool-toned ice inside the cave. The cave itself has since collapsed, but similar formations continue to emerge in the glacier’s lower moraine.
