Her incredibly brave stand - which she must have known would not be tolerated - makes a point. Iran is an oppresive, abusive, regime. Who should be opposed.

If an activist here in the US was executed there would be sheer fucking hell to pay. The extrajudicial murder of Tortuguita in Weelaunee Forest cost the Cop City builders tens of millions of dollars in fire damage. A formal execution by a court would trigger even heavier reprisals. I have always believe that's why Nixon did not dare attempt to charge Jane Fonda with Treason for her stand against the brutal Vietnam War.
