🧵 1/2 Last week I receive a language report from new school behaviorist. Bad words my son used, all euphemisms. No context. And a schedule of punishments.

Eventually I found part of the issue was his being triggered by the adult when told his PBT score would be reduced. Then he reacts badly and then the punishments add up. His previous behaviorist figured this out and approached it differently.

🧵2/2 New adults are annoying.

As I’ve gotten more experienced with school “professionals” and their patterns, I find my tolerance for their ableism, pathologization, and shaming has dropped sharply.

I’m also starting to connect the dots with how I get triggered by their communications and try to stop the cycle that has happened in the past. Calling it out and demanding explanations and focusing on supportive approaches is my way of combatting this BS.
I used to dread having to find a new GP. I'm learning how to train them.
Yeah I have to do that with coworkers too. “Here watch my care and feeding YouTube video…” 😂
