#Journal of a happy but also tired Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Friday, 07/02/2025).

TL;DR it started as an usual day but then... It wasn't! Friends came to visit and we headed to the zoo! Long day, but a good one. 😊

Woke about twenty minutes to the alarm. The scale wasn't too bad, and I got dressed and ready to care for Arwen. I let her wee, mass brekky for her, and then I got my bag and headed to the gym.

I updated my social media while waiting for the meds to kick in. Used the crosstrainer for 15 minutes, then the seated bike for 45 minutes. A nice massage in the chair after that, and then I headed back home.

Washed up, had breakfast, and then Arwen and I went out for SniffiVerse™ walkies. It was a dry night, but there was a colder wind. We had a good walk, Arwen wanted the longer one, so I obliged.

When we got back, I started some cleaning work at the house. Around 4:45, I walked Arwen again, and then we headed to Skoosh to head to Nijmegen. I had forgotten that the highway was closed off, so I had to drive a longer way to get to Nijmegen. Left Arwen at my parents place, and headed back home. Had an asshat being very annoyed with me that I followed the rules and he didn't, so of course I was to game for his errors... Sure... Asshat! But it did wind me up, even though I did all as I should have done...

With Arwen being out of the way, I could start the bigger cleaning. First the couch. Even though I try my best to keep it clean, it was still very sandy! Then I cleaned the kitchen. I hoovered after that, and then I mopped! 😅 It was a lot of hard work! When all that was done, I headed to the store and I got some bread for today at the zoo.

As my friends hit some traffic, I did my best to make them bread. So when they'd arrive, we could head to the zoo easily. They arrived, we packed bags and then we headed to Skoosh, on our way to the zoo. The roads were still a bit busy, bit we had no real bad traffic, so we arrived shortly before ten. They got their ticket and I got my yearly sub, thanks to a very sweet friend!

It was a dry day, but there was a mean wind! We didn't see all the animals, not we saw some that we missed on October so that was cool! We had a great time, taking vids and snaps and enjoying the more quiet time, as the zoo wasn't too busy.

After some time, I thought it would be best to head back home. I was getting very tired and achy and I'd forgotten to take meds with me. 😔 And if we'd leave too late, it would take us ages to get home due to traffic. My friends had seen all that they wanted to see, so they were good to go as well.

I was able to scan my pass at the parking lot, and it worked to let me out! So yay for that. We had a decent drive back to my parents. It was a bit busier, bit we were able to keep driving all the way. I picked up Arwen, she got in the back of the car with one of my friends, and we headed back home.

I fixed food for us all, and we watched some telly. Then we walked with Arwen. We watched some more telly, and I was yawning so much! So my friends headed upstairs to watch something on their tablets, so that I could head to bed.

It didn't take too long to fall asleep. And crazily enough, I woke at my normal time for the loo! But I did manage to sleep some more. I did wake before the alarm, but Arwen didn't mind as she was ready for some food and all that... 😊

A relaxing tiger, seen through a thick window at the zoo. It's head is resting partially on one of its paws, and it's facing to the right of the snap.
