Scientists identify how dietary restriction slows brain aging and increases lifespan
Restricting calories is known to improve health and increase lifespan, but much of how it does so remains a mystery, especially in regard to how it protects the brain. Scientists have now uncovered a role for a gene called OXR1 that is necessary for the lifespan extension seen with dietary restriction and is essential for healthy brain aging.

"Ihrer Darlegung zufolge ist der menschliche Organismus ausschließlich auf pflanzliche Nahrungsmittel festgelegt und benötigt zur Erhaltung des Grundstoffwechsels nicht mehr als 250 bis 400 Kalorien täglicher Nahrungszufuhr."
This viewpoint justifies the current fashionable tendency to refuse meat. All the doctors I know speak negatively about such an extreme, animal protein is necessary for a person to have a full nutrition. Otherwise a person starts to eat (if it is only vegetable food) constantly, not three times a day as correctly. He has a constant feeling of hunger and the body gradually eats its cells, the result can be deplorable. Food should be full, but in moderation.

Here we can draw the logical conclusion that the more we eat, the more energy is spent on digestion rather than brain function.
