A black and white photoograph of the Chryselr Building and its near neighbours.
A black and white photograph of the Chrysler Building and surrounding buildings, taken from a crosswalk a block away.
The art deco Chrysler Building is seen in the background, nestling amongst more modern, steel-clad buildings. The top of the Chrysler Building is has several curves which lead to a sharp point. Beneath this, it has a more typical block like structure, moving in steps until it fills the block.
The buildings in front of it are from the 1950s or 60s, their facade decorated.
In front of these is a silhouetted hanging set of traffic lights on a curved arm.
The bottom of the picture is dark in shadow.
A black and white photograph of the top of the Chrysler Building.
The top floor are housed in a series of curves which meet together to finish in a sharp point. Windows in the curves are triangular, which make the whole look like an stylised image of the sun.
Beneath the curves are a series of eagle-shaped gargoyles.
The floors below this are standard, box-like design of concrete, steel and glass.
A colour photograph of the Chrysler Building taken from some distance, so it is dwarfed by the surrounding nearer buildings.
The top of the Chrysler Building and its neighbours are lost in a fog, as if they are dissolving into the sky. The bottom of the picture is dark and shadowed.
Although a colour photograph, it has a monochrome feel to it.
