When you realize it's too late to turn back give a good yell! There is no one around. Squat. Slide slowly down the steep parts on your bum. Take deep breaths. Watch out for the barbed wire on your right and the long drop off the cliff on your left. Be comforted by the sweet faces of cows. They don't know what a burger is. Ignore the to-the-top-of-your-head hammer pounding in your ears. Cry out to your loved ones who are dead. They won't hear you — but you'll feel closer to them when you glare down at the abyss. Listen to the surf crashing on the beach. The breaking up and letting go. It has a kind of seeing without eyes. And your whole body knows this. And your whole body knows this.
