Is there a good 'pick an instance - decision tree' image I could hand to a fediverse novice to get them over the initial hurdle of figuring out the first step of getting started on mastodon?

There are "wizard" sites for picking instances, but the problem is they aren't curated. There may be some not very nice instances listed.

As far as I know the only two curated instance lists are https://fedi.garden and https://joinmastodon.org/servers
