This past week I have heard the same question thrown around over and over again: "what's the point of setting up a #Pixelfed account if the software is interoperable with the rest of the Fediverse? Why not just post photos on Mastodon or Sharkey or __?"

Well, #Pixelfed allows you to have a beautiful, curated feed of your photos.

See:
1️⃣ my self-hosted Pixelfed feed
2️⃣ the way my #Mastodon feed appears on Pixelfed

as evidence.

Thank you @dansup for giving us an awesome Fedi photo platform 🙏
a screenshot of my Pixelfed feed as it appears on the web. On the left you can see my profile photo and bio. On the right there is a grid with 6 photos from my archives that I really like, showing scenes from Paris, Lake Como and two of my favorite cameras
a screenshot showing how my Mastodon feed appears on Pixelfed, showing my profile photo and bio on the left... and a grid of 6 photos on the right. They are mostly screenshots I have shared to Mastodon and a video that says "preview not available" (maybe it was a GIF?). There is no visual appeal to this feed
