Silent Sunday?

What is more silent than the silence over the USA's plunge into Fascism and its opening of militarised concentration camps in 3rd countries on a mass scale, to hold, degrade and abuse otherwise innocent immigrants with no due legal process

There are bourgois mutterings in the media, that's true, but the silence is in the lack of any heartfelt connection to the reality and scale of the crimes against humanity that are unfolding. The silence is from their hearts

The prison in El Salvador where the first batches of US immigrants, as prisoners after being seized from the workplaces and streets in the US, are being sent, to join other prisoners of the El Salvador regime, mostly Venezuelans, shown here with heads shaved, cross-legged and heads bowed, in rows on a concrete floor in a warehouse-like prison, all wearing white shirt and shorts as uniform, surrounded by many militarised prison guards, carrying weapons and riot gear

For those who may need it, here are my thoughts as I took advantage of the SilentSunday hashtag

Yes, I wanted to reach a wider crowd, but did not do it casually or 'just for clicks'

I completely sympathise with the need to protect mental health at times, and not be exposed to certain news stories, but there is a balance to be struck. My balance was to use USpol and hope those people filter

But this is about concentration camps. Peace of mind isn't an option. They'll come for you eventually

First the Trumpist Regime will "resettle them to the south", and then? Have we all forgotten about the National Socialist Regime who sent the Jewish population, and others, "To the East" already?

The US is long past the opening salvos in its, shall we say, "migration difficulties".
it already has its 'final solution' planned.
... yes, they do. The AfD had a "conference" in a Schloß by a Berlin lake discussing "remigration". We KNOW what this is a euphemism for, because we have seen it all before.

but will the UK do the right thing and arrange the assassination of the chairman of the USA meeting as they did the German one.
A thought about the UK occurred to me in making my OP. I feel we need to be careful we don't think we are 'better' than this just because currently the US is deeper into the abyss. We have plenty of our own unaddressed demons and have no idea what they would be capable of if they were unleashed. That's why it's important we listen to our better angels now. This is the time to be better. And that involves breaking with everything the US is doing
I read your words, "We have plenty of our own unaddressed demons". For some reason I immediately thought of Enoch Powell's Rivers of Blood speech from 1968. Powell opposed laws which prevented the refusal of housing, employment, or public services to persons on the grounds of colour, race, or ethnic or national origin. Many at the time supported his views. Terrifying to consider that Powell's views seem so much more mainstream today.
