Good morning to you all from a grey and slightly chilly Tokyo. Chilly compared to yesterday, when temps here hit 23C.

Photos from yesterday, all shot with the 65x24 app. Ever since 1998 and the release of the Hasselblad XPan, I've been in love with the 65x24 aspect ratio. Link to app in comments.

Have a great day, all.

We are in Shimbashi, a gritty neighbourhood of Tokyo full of bars, restaurants and a fave for workers to visit once their day is done.

The focus of this photo is a reflection of the Shimbashi New Building in the mirror on a scooter. The building has a distinctive facade and is a signature of the area near the station.

This scene shows the Shimbashi Ekimae (Station front) Buildings, Nos. 1 &2. Built in 1966 and designed by Takeo Sato, these buildings are a signature of the east side of Shimbashi Station.

I was in one of the narrow streets of restaurants and bars, looking towards the skyscrapers of the neighbouring Shiodome district. One large, distinctive tall building is in the middle of the background. Large metal struts dominate the outside of the building. This is the Nittele Tower building (Nippon Television Tower). 32 storeys high, Nittele was designed by the Richard Rodgers Consortium.

In the foreground the word "To-ma-re" (Stop in Japanese) is painted on the road. A train of the Yamanote Line crosses the bridge in the middle-ground of the photo.

In this photo, my focus was the extractor piping on the building at left. Loved its shape and the way it was catching the sun. Late afeternoon sun picks out features of the side of a row of buildings, with the a/c and other services visible. We also see a little of the street continuing east, on the left of the frame.
