For now just checking out whether this is can be a valid replacement for Facebook, at least for my usage. I do suppose this is more a short form format.

You can do long form on here too, there are several blogging platforms which can be connected to the Fediverse so that they can be followed and interacted with from Mastodon etc. For example WriteFreely is a Medium alternative, Wordpress has Fediverse compatibility, Ghost is working on it.
