Stellantis will close its Luton Vauxhall plant (putting up to 1,100 workers out of work, unless they move to Ellesmere Port where operations are to be consolidated) & blames the Electric Vehicle quota, which they think they will be unable to meet at current level of EV demand.

However, as Stellantis had already started to upgrade Ellesmere Port to enhance productivity around EVs, one cannot help but wonder if this is smokescreen for a 'normal' corporate decision?
