Interactions between sex workers & the police often end up in violence, with many sex workers sufficiently scared of the police not to report violence they are subject to by criminals seeking to control & exploit them.
Researchers note: 'if the top priority for sex work-related policing was enabling sex workers to report serious violence, then police activities that breed further fear & mistrust must stop or be severely restricted'!
