Six & half million people moved to OECD countries last year (about 10% up on the previous year).... some, of course, moving between OECD members.

The small numbers of 'illegal migrants' (that's REFUGEES!!!!) are actually dwarfed by the numbers migrating through standard channels.

Certainly migration is up, but can we be surprised with the chaos from political upheavals & climate change, as well as economic necessity.... read my lips:

Chart: More people are migrating for work & humanitarian reasons. Numbers of migrants from OECD countries 

between 2019 - 2023... migration due to:
Family reasons grew from just over 1,500,000 to nearer 2,000,000
Taking advantage fo free movement rules dropped from 1,400,000 to just over 1,000,000
for work rose from 650,000 to over 1,000,000
for humanitarian reasons, accompanying family & for other reasons, all grew from between 200,000-300,000 to around 500,000
