Just learned today that #PDF has its own association: https://pdfa.org/news/
Anybody know more about this? Like: How deep is Acrobat still involved? Is this a good association bringing more freedom to the format or a bad on, just acting as a shell for bad company influence? And so on.

The PDF file format has been a public ISO standard since 2008. Adobe plays a significant role, but does not own the standard. The format continues to evolve.
Thanks to the support of sponsors, over the past couple years, the PDF Association has made many of the key PDF standards available to all for free download.
