That is smog, not fog (or more accurately, wildfire smoke mixed with fog). If you wonder what 1990's Los Angeles air quality was like, it was this, except it was automobile exhaust, not vaporized houses. #smog #LosAngeles #AQI

I remember.
Catalytic converters were introduced in 1975.
CARB for diesel fuel 1988.
CaRFG for other fuels phased in during the 1990s.
Los Angeles buried in the pre-EPA smog.
The post GenX generations don't know how bad it really was. Well, maybe they will in a few years with the deregulation guys in charge. @ai6yr

Also, in my day, we hung our washing out to dry, call it solar powered laundry drying, returned our glass bottles instead of plastic bottles, paper sacks made from special forest acres segregated just for reforesting for paper products, etc

We read on paper and not some swipe device that uses so much water and energy to keep the infrastructure going... I'll stop now. I went down the, "your generation killed the earth, hole."

Yeah. Tho’ truth is most of those decisions about plastic and paper and coal use are made in a CEO’s office. Consumers of every generation have little to no idea what the impact they make until much later.

Deregulation will be awful. I come from a city whose river regularly caught on fire.

😕
