I might ... try to figure out ... how to get ... #Linux Mint to play Bluray ...
I should revisit Blu-ray on Linux too, the main reason I keep a Windows machine is for ripping Blu-rays. Interested to hear if you get it working
I don't know what I'm doing!

There's some key database thing that's taking a million years to download but there's this libaacs thing that I'm supposed to instal but I can't work out how to do that bit.

Usually, clicking things at random makes things work ...
Hmm, the database shouldn't be that big. The one I just found was only 3MB. The last post on this thread from last year has the commands to install libaacs (and some other packages) directly from the Mint repos and a command to grab the keys. It talks about using a program called MakeMVP as well though and I'm not familiar with it

The database I'm trying to download is 18mb. It's not huge but very slow downloading.

I tried that commands and it did something!

I just need to try some Bluray discs out and see if they play.

I've bought From Beyond on Bluray, so I'll give that a try.
idk. The website I tried to download from just broke momentarily. It's back up now...
Sounds like progress - good luck!
If you have a BluRay drive already, you might be done!
I do have a bluray drive but it doesn't play. At least it didn't. I haven't tried it now that I've messed around a bit and installed stuff.
