Actually, you know, when political parties release their #propaganda - like party political broadcasts or leaflets through your door ...

Who, if anyone, is persuaded by such stuff?

It is usually so free of a compelling argument that, as far as I can tell, it would only impress people who already vote for that party.

So, serious questions: Do these things work, and if so, how do they work?

Does it just work on a kind of: Well if they have a leaflet that must mean others are voting for them ?
Is it just merely reminding people of the party's name through repetition that gets people to consider voting?

Or is it the notion the propaganda presents that tells the electorate: It's not all about what people are saying in the newspapers? You know, representing an alternative view of the party.

Or maybe it doesn't work at all and it's all just a colossal waste of money?
one leaflet doesn't change someone's mind, but if you repeatedly and consistently see them around, together with radio and tv propaganda they create a stable image of the party and their goals in your head. Like a movie film with many slides.
