Talking to my younger son I mentioned that my older son was taking me and a couple of my girlfriends to a shooting range because we're all thinking of "getting strapped" as the kids used to say. He was perplexed. It was a chance for me to say this: Most men do not understand the threat that women live under at all times. I referenced the man/bear/forest meme and told him that this Trump win puts violent misogyny in the White House, and so women feel less safe today. He got it.
