I had a sweet “this is not Twitter” interaction yesterday. I could tell the man replying to me was used to being slammed on Twitter.

I was ranting about a privacy violation on a website, all my deceased Mom’s previous addresses listed with the year she lived there and everything. Posted by my cousin.

One of the replies was a kind man who started his question by explaining that he believes it is wrong for someone to do that and refuse to take it down, but he was curious about why I was so upset about a dead woman’s addresses being on the Internet.

It gave me a little giggle because people who have not been abused on Twitter probably wouldn’t feel like they have to explain that they’re not agreeing with what happened just because they don’t understand why it’s upsetting.

It could be alot worse @maggiejk, but you need to have a convo with your cousin about wtf they think they're doing and why
