anyone have a recommendation for android apps for to use? i'm assuming this is like mastodon and there are multiple apps

Looks like there are two for Android and one for iOS, but I think official apps are coming this week — I know that’s true for iOS, at least.

i saw the official pixelfed app but it had 4 stars so i figured it was worth checking on another. might give that a shot since the other one cost $1.99. not that i mind paying for it, just don't know what i'd be paying for at this point

Yeah, I did see the Pixelfed app in the iOS App Store earlier, but it wasn’t letting me connect so I haven’t really tried it yet. Still using the web app for now.

just got signed into the #pixelfed app for android, and it is working!
now i just have to figure out who to follow 😂
