Quadruped robots in China are increasingly used for hazardous tasks such as patrolling underground tunnels and waste management.

I love how every time new technology comes out or social change happens we inevitably get these types of articles appearing. I love how invention of books, radio, TV, video games, and so on all were confidently predicted to end society and make everyone as dumb as bricks.
No one notices the stupidification because 'stupid'. Airplanes and cars were gonna curdle cows milk. Welp that didnt happen, but MASSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIOLOGICAL DAMAGE from them sure did. No one noticed because stupid, and rejected that if the did, because it didn't curdle the milk. See how that works? It works the same in every stupid industrial society.
ah yes, because famously humans never caused any environmental damage before having modern technology 🤣
First thing I ever learned in sociology 99 was that "primitive people" looked like they were environmentally destructive but they actually utilized everything far more efficiently.

Your turn.
in fact, you don't even need brains or technology to cause global disasters https://asm.org/articles/2022/february/the-great-oxidation-event-how-cyanobacteria-change
It helps. Alot. #BullshitJobs for #ConsumerCapitalist society humans who contribute nearly nothing, if not literally nothing, and leave mountains of trash in their ecosphere destructive wakes. Hundreds of tons (conservatively) of TRASH... most of it non-reusable or recyclable, on their Zombie Jesus' alleged birthday alone.

nobody is arguing that bullshit jobs are good here though, so not sure why you bring that up
Because it was created by the technocratic state you seem so enamored of @yogthos Other ways are possible and in existence
except it very obviously hasn't, you conflate capitalism and technology here. Yet, you can look at USSR or DPRK to see that technological advancement has fuck all to do with capitalism and bullshit jobs. That's the alternative that's possible.
You see @yogthos I think technocratic thinking is, by it's very nature, Fascist thinking. It enforces a Traditionalism, which Umberto Eco defined as one point of Eternal Fascism. "The Science" and Peer Review, are enforcements ot tradition... for a start. Technocracy also depends on raping the planet for it's products, sold OR 'given', as in socialist economies. Those resources are typically in places with people who don't ascribe to technocracy, making it predatory, hostile to someone elsewhere
