Last night in Israel, flares were thrown at Netanyahu's house. He was not home. Politicians across the spectrum are rightfully denouncing this act of violence.

The far right ministers such as Ben Gvir and Smotrich are enraged, calling this an escalation in a violent coup d'etat that could lead to the assassination of Netanyahu.

Right. But where, exactly, were they when Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated ?

It's really wild to hear Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir denouncing protestors setting flares off at Netanyahu's house and warning against escalating violence that could lead to Netanyahu's assassination.

Back in 1995, the very same Itamar Ben Gvir was interviewed holding a piece of Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin's car, saying "We got to his car and we'll get to him too."

A few weeks later, Rabin was assassinated. In his car.

To be clear, I do not support violent actions such as the one last night which saw flares thrown at Israeli PM Netanyahu's house.

But I do support the peaceful protests against the corrupt and warmongering Israeli government which are happening every single day in Israel.

This was Tel Aviv last night.
