I notice there's an election in Ireland soon.

As per usual, politicians are banging on about 'change', even though they are the ones with the biggest vested interest in maintaining the status quo ante.

There's so much wrong with UK (its existence for a start), but at the current rate of reform it's going to take millennia before there's even an elected second chamber.
