TIL in 1925, a border dispute erupted between Greece and Bulgaria after a Greek soldier chased his runaway dog across the border and was shot by Bulgarian forces. This led to the "War of the Stray Dog," where Greece invaded Bulgaria. The League of Nations had to intervene to ease the situation.
