TIL that there's a star called 'Methuselah' (HD 140283) which is older than the universe itself.Scientists estimate it to be about 14.5 billion years old, while the universe is believed to be only 13.8 billion years old. Talk about an existential crisis for astrophysicists

there's some curve-fitting going on that makes me think they aren't really sure about their numbers at all
