TIL of English financier Clarence Hatry. His fraudulent operations, wiped the equivalent to 1.8 billion today off the market, and lead in part to the 1929 Wall Street Crash. Hatry who served as a librarian while in prison, would later acquire and revitalise the bookshop Hatchards.
