Overnight an Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 flight from Baku Azerbaijan to Grozny Russia crashed in an apparent hydraulic failure. Close up images of the fuesalage shows damage that looks an awful like anti-aircraft fire.

The crash reportedly took place during a day of drone incursions throughout Russia launched by Ukrainians.

This is a developing story, at least 38 passengers lost their lives but there appear to be dozens of survivors.

The stricken aircraft appeared to be flown to an attempted landing using only differential thrust from the engines. This caused a tell tale oscillation in altitude.

In several videos from passengers onboard show damage to the cabin consistent with anti aircraft weapons. Dozens of small holes litter the cabin presumably from shrapnel.

In other videos passengers were clearly struck by shrapnel. In this one a person inspects their floatation device which now has large holes.

The passenger area stayed intact. It may not have been at high altitude. Diverted by emergency. Had a few qords on that here. I don't think it was a bird strike. I think it sucked up a Uke drone or was actually attacked by one. https://kafeneio.social/@heretical_i/113715200393977142
