The REAL Reason the Tech Bros Want More H1Bs

Am I saying that all H1B hires are green or incompetent?

I never noticed a preponderance of talent that I did not see equaled or surpassed from domestic engineers of the same experience levels.

They are not smarter, they are not more capable, and they certainly are not more experienced. What they are is cheap and pliant and that is ALL that the DOGE crowd and their fellow tech bros care about.

Absolutely. Any H1B employee who doesn't like the conditions will hear something like: Look out the door, there's a queue of people like you who'll like it and are prepared to work longer hours for lower pay. Like it or lump it, and call the next candidate in on your way to the airport...
What domestic talent won’t put up with is abuse and below proper market pay.
Another facet to the #H1B issue that seems to have been overlooked thus far is that it effectively allows the US to outsource education and training.

I don't understand all the furor over visas. You don't have to reside in the U.S. to work for a U.S. company.
These visa and the fear of losing them has long been used as a weapon to keep these folks in line. Meanwhile, use of the visa serves the dual purpose of depressing wages and denying jobs to American citizens.

Works great for the tech bros. Just ask Musk and Bezos.
Seems like a bad deal for US tech workers (undercuts their negotiation power) but a fine deal for the Indians. Right after college they get a job, if they manage to live cheaply, they can save up what in India is some serious money and come back with three years of language and professional training in a major US company and some personal connections.

This ends up boosting India's economy.
