Interesting level of frustration by Australian commentators on US politics. Once again the US Democratic Party has not given politics the seriousness it deserves: offering Biden as their candidate; not choosing Shapiro for the candidate for Vice President and locking in Pennsylvania. This dates waaay back: to not forcing Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Nancy Pelosi to retire; to not having prepared people of the same calibre to replace them.

Increasingly their wins are one-offs. Political geniuses like B Clinton and Obama, who didn't really need the Party to work to win.
