I’ve just closed my #Amazon account & if I lose all the books I’ve purchased & are now on my kindle app - so be it!
In the scheme of things, it is so small it will mean nothing, but I’m so fed up seeing hearing the horrific rhetoric from the putrid stain inhabiting the #WhiteHouse, I have to stand up do something, anything. I will not willingly support any US company, buy any US products from now on until the 🍊 🤡 is removed. I can’t do much about my phone & iPad, I can’t afford to replace them, everything else though - in the bin 🚮.

the amazon market model (described in the book <chokepoint capitalism>) is horrendous. i’m proud of you for taking this step.
if we live long enough we cull a lot of books for space reasons - this was the main reason i stopped resisting and started using the library on my ipad.
having paid once for a book and then donated it to an op shop, i don’t feel remotely guilty about sometimes downloading a pdf version to replace it free of charge. I’m not tech savvy, and wary of a) giving any personal details so i can download stuff, and b) just don’t trust a lot of links. places i feel safe downloading stuff free are itunes (via my library app on ipad) — they have out of copyright classics free, and sometimes free samples from all genres and a whole range of topics
sometimes not-out-of-copyright books are available from <internet archives books> (occasionally they are taken to court)
sometimes a book is just text on a web page — this can be saved as a pdf from your search engine and put in your library
if it’s a living author i want to support/ haven’t previously paid for, i just buy through itunes - the prices seem reasonable.
also i’ve saved heaps of money by storing a free sample/ or putting a title in my want to buy stack. (better than the olden days when i would buy a book in case i never saw it again).
finally, i suppose you sometimes buy secondhand from <brotherhood books>?
anyway, 👍🏻 thumbs up. i think the collective weight of world opinion will have no direct impact on trusk/mump, but when their economy goes to shit their will be a huge shift in public opinion

The most liked post I ever had prior to this was way back in the early days when I posted a picture of ladybirds 🐞 & told everyone that I’d just found out that a lot them is called a loveliness.
