The CEO of BCBS -

yes, the one who's decided that you don't need anaesthesia for the whole time you're being operated on if it takes longer -

posted on linkedin about her fellow CEO having a non-covered healthcare event today.

I think the comments -

and this is linkedin, so these are real-name accounts from professionals -

are pretty indicative with how health insurance is viewed in this country.

And I am laughing hard.

I do like the new euphemism for the untimely demise of a Health Insurance CEO - 'non-covered healthcare event'.
#ThoughtsAndPrayers
I'm a poet and I'm sick of all the petty euphemisms people have been using to avoid censorship of 'death' as a word.

There's much better ways to say someone's popped off, snuffed it, shuffled off this mortal coil, departed this vale of tears, tripped their last fantastic, exceeded their expiration date, got done in, had their third eye opened the hard way, didn't make it out of the body shop, used their last lifeline, or took the thirteenth major arcana as their life-path.

We have kennings; we have metaphors; we have a joyous riot of speech to choose from - so use it damnit.
The Parrot Sketch is a case in point.
yes, but in this case it's a rather more of a pining for the director's board.
Finally stopped smoking, handed their pipe to St. Marten, repurposed their energy, sang their last song, went underground...
...became a harpist; pushing up daisies; baritone in the celestial choir; done her last interview.
his claim is denied; he succumbed to a post-existence condition; he met his lifetime coverage cap; he has been judged to be not medically necessary.
I've been loving seeing all the wordplay online in recent days.

Funny, what inspires people to be able to reach new heights of personal creativity and improvement.
@cdrch I _love_ some good wordplay!
Which kinda means I also like making dad jokes. The problem with my jokes that it's not always obvious it's a dad joke. Usually, it becomes clear when it's a parent.
Anyway, it does cause some problems though, as I don't have any children.
I guess you could say I'm a faux pas.
