Big M, Hardly Normal, ??, #WhichBank?

It's the Commonwealth Bank that triggers me and I never have the sound on so I have no idea what audio crap goes with the adds.

Having charged dead people, facilitated money laundering, profited from interest rate rises they were planning to force customers to pull out their own toenails until someone thought this was a bit over the top.

We used to own that bank.

I seem to remember that it was some fiscal scandal involving the bank of Western Australia, that caused the sale of the Commonwealth Bank, which had been tied to the Post Office, and school banking. I don't know if it should have been cut loose entirely...but I'm no expert. Banks just can't seem to play things straight.🙄

Apparently when you sell the farm you are no longer able to farm.

I had a Commonwealth bank money box and a savings passbook in primary school.

On Monday mornings, bank day, i used to deposit sixpence.

So did I, but in Qld, not in NSW.

This was Vic. All Australian public schools did the same. We used to listen to the ABC on the PA whilst we did the banking. Imagine that! A public utility freely broadcasting public benefit programs.

The whole concept of a savings bank has gone out the window.

Cheques are a thing of the past and soon actual cash will be abolished. The same technique will be used for cash as is being used for snail mail.

Make it too expensive and very slow and then ditch it because no one is using it.

Remember when GST was supposed to do away with the cash economy? Around here it gave everyone 10% more reason to cheat.

If there's no cash we will see the resurrection of barter.
