A reminder to all (especially journalists), by the way, that the Nazi symbol is the Hakenkreuz, NOT the swastika.
We Hindus/Buddhists/Jains worship the swastika, we paint it in our homes on Diwali and other festivals, and, above all, we are NOT Nazis.
P.S. I also find it ironic when Jewish/Israeli groups make that mistake, given that India is among the very few places on earth bar Israel where Jews have not faced serious antisemitism (except for the Mumbai 2008 terrorist attacks where Jews were murdered in Chabad House) throughout the history of Judaism.
Thank you for your explanation. I will be happy to call it the hakenkreuz from now on. I did have a hazy memory of this distinction, but I had forgotten the details. #auspol #NoRoomForSpudRacism
