PSA: next time you're buying a large, important appliance such as a fridge or or a tumble dryer or a jaffle maker, make sure you look up the instructions on *cleaning it* before you buy. This might not seem as important as how you many sandwiches you can fit inside it or when it can be delivered, but I'm cleaning my fridge today and have been reminded that the shelves do not fully come apart, meaning I can't actually clean between the glass and plastic, and it's pretty gross in there.
Also because it's me and I ran out of room in that tweet to mention it, you should also see what information is out there about *repairing it*, too. Modern appliances do unfortunately have a pretty short lifespan because capitalism, but if you know it's likely you'll be able to replace a key part five years from now with a screwdriver and a little enthusiasm, you might save yourself the expense of replacing it outright sooner than you need to. #RightToRepair
