I'm surprised to see people apparently only just now learning that #Tesla vehicles are programmed to disable self-drive just before a crash (ostensibly so they can claim the vehicle wasn't in self-drive when it crashed, skewing statistics).

I thought this came out years ago and was fairly common knowledge by now?
their FSD sucks, and shouldn't have been released or even called as such, but this one could be a runaway case of "OK, bad stuff is happening, maybe *stop* pressing on the gas." You know, so the crashing car does so with not 100% speed or something.

Though I guess 58 MPH vs 60 when hitting the barrier isn't exactly much of a difference... 😅
