Think about it, if you have clawed your way to a comfortable niche in the Social Darwinist Capitalist class hierarchy, why on earth would you allow the level playing field of equal opportunity a high quality public education provides?

There is a reason they used to lynch white people who taught enslaved Africans and Indigenous people the skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Too much learning, the wrong kind of learning ― gives the permanent underclass dangerous thoughts and aspirations.

It's as true today, as 150 years ago.
