Good morning!

Today on my early-morning walk, I walked past a large stand of some sort of grasses or reeds -- it's an invasive species and grows taller than I am. A loud noise was coming from it, sounding to me like there was a flock of chickens in there squabbling. I kept thinking some sort of fowl would pop out onto the path.

Instead, suddenly several hundred small birds rose into the air, still making that noise, flying in such close formation that they formed a black cloud against the sky. I watched them until they disappeared. I haven't seen that around here before.
