Will the farmers call off their protests and pay their taxes like everyone else else, or will they be comfortable standing shoulder to shoulder with the far right - the likes of Nick Griffin, Yaxley-Lennon supporters et al. Remember how many farmers had those big ‘Vote for Brexit’ hoardings on their land? Maybe the farmers really are part of the far right, but they didn’t want us to be fully aware of it?

@hannu_ikonen different nations, different battles to be fought. Here in the usa if farmers decided to refuse to cooperate with the system it would be seen as a leftist movement. Our taxes will not be used to help us here, but welded against us with literal weapons.

Am i correct in understanding your farmers movement to be about reducing the ability of the left to soften the blow of right wing cuts to social spending?
Farmers in the UK don’t pay inheritance tax on their land: the current government has implemented a low level of inheritance tax for those with bigger farms. It’s past time they paid some share, like everyone else does. That the militant (often with criminal convictions) right wing leaders are planning to join the farmers should be damaging to them and their cause.

yes - was wondering how this is going to go down. Very tired of all this ‘this income has all been taxed already’ horseshit. Mostly it hasn’t in the way they mean - and hey - that’s how the system works…
