Rep. Mark McLean for Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs. This bill would establish a committee to study legislative protections and accommodations for individuals with long COVID.
The committee felt that while the problem is real, there was nothing presented in testimony to elevate this illness above others to the point that a special committee is warranted. The committee also felt that the formation of a special committee would be premature, as a recent New England Journal of Medicine article stressed that the medical community is still trying to define long COVID. The committee therefore recommended Inexpedient to
Legislate. Vote 17-1.
