A colour photograph in landscape orientation of the Scottish mountain Quinag, taken from the south on the road along Loch Assynt. Quinag is a mountain of four summits, three lined along a ridge which are visible in this picture and one lying off the ridge to the north, which cannot be seen in the picture. In the foregound are the grassy lower slopes of Quinag, behind which the steep, apparently barren, upper slopes lead to the three peaks. It was a sunny day with lots of clouds in the sky, which tower over the three peaks.

The picture looks along the ridge of the mountain over two subsidiary peaks towards the northern peak, Sail Ghorm, which is hidden in cloud. The steep slopes of the eastern peak, Sail Garbh, can be seen at the left of the picture. In the distance the low lying land between the mountain and the sea, and then the coast, can be seen.
