Ontario, Canada’s most populous province just announced:

- removal of all American alcohol from store shelves, meaning all Ontario businesses will not be able to buy or sell American wine, beer, or liquor (we’re their largest importer at $1b/yr)

- banned US companies from bidding on contracts

- cancelled huge Starlink contract

- ending nickel exports (look up what that means)

- next step will be a 25% tax on energy sales to the US.

canada has more to lose - if they want to escalate then that is on them but de-americanization may not be the worst thing either; everybody will adjust
Canada is the top exporter of Oil, Uranium, Nickel, Wood and other important raw materials to the US. Trust me, the US is losing a lot more.
Of course we have more to lose, they have 10 times more people and their economy is about 10 times bigger than ours, but that's no reason to let bullies walk all over us. In the past issues could be resolved through diplomacy but the US no longer does diplomacy.
