Beiträge, die mit tariffs getaggt sind

#DonnieDumbass is going to institute some of his worst economic policies right away (namely #tariffs) which will fail almost immediately as American *Importers* start complaining of having to pay this huge tax increase, while American manufactures & farmers are unable to sell their goods overseas as countries impose retaliatory tariffs upon US.

And if he *actually* starts trying to round up immigrants, the logistics will prove impossible (and the labor loss will decimate service industries.)
Trump failed at every promise he made in 2016.

I've actually heard people targeted by his racist polices justify voting for him now BECAUSE he failed the first time and therefore not a threat.

John Donigian, the senior director of #SupplyChain strategy at Moody’s, said the #tariffs could lead to higher #costs, potential #delays & pressure for #businesses to shift production closer to North America or into the #UnitedStates.

All industries would face unique challenges, he said. For #electronics, moving #production could be #slow & #costly. For #retail & #consumer #goods that try to keep costs low, inventories could fall & consumer #prices rise.

[so less stuff that’s more expensive]

#US businesses are stock piling & predicting increases to #consumer #prices in preparation for #Trump’s #tariffs.

Trump’s election is already cascading through global #SupplyChains, where companies are grappling w/his vision for international #trade & huge tariffs on foreign products. Trump has floated a 10-20% #tax on most foreign products, & a 60% #tariff on goods from China—that would raise the surcharge American importers pay to a level not seen in generations.

That would cause the #FederalReserve to pause its current trajectory of lowering interest rates.

And that would run directly counter to #Trump’s goal to maintain lower interest rates as part of a policy of accelerating growth.

“Although Trump has shown a consistent preference for easy monetary policy, we believe that the #Fed would engage in a less aggressive cutting cycle under a 2nd Trump admin due to the #inflationary nature of additional #tariffs,” Nomura Holdings financial told clients.
