In retrear, ensure arms have been cached and all available assitance (including stay-behind fighters) provided to local partisans.

When conventional war defeat is inevitable, the army melts away into the population and records that can identify soldiers or anyone else are destroyed.

From there an open-ended insurgency can be waged against the invadere, again following rhe proven model from Iraq. The open-ended war will trigger and be joined to a civil war here, endangering Trump's regime.
