Language is made up of what we say, so if we call them penguins, they're penguins. There is no state of "penguin-ness" outside of language, so to suggest today's penguins are somehow not legitimate because another bird was once called penguin would just be silly.

If only they knew.

In my homeland, English has taken over so completely, most residents speak it as a first #language. They wouldn't even be able to tell you the name of our native language.

It's #Massachusetts. 🙄

That's the language. That is what it is called.
