Just finished reading "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson, 1992.

Coins the term metaverse in relation to #VR, has a couple of other cool tech speculation points and a great subplot about Sumerian religion.

But the prose is horrible. Wouldn't read again, could only conditionally recommend.

Wait, you mean to tell me that the book with a main character who’s a ninja pizza deliveryperson named Hiro Protagonist is actually *not* especially well-written despite certain prescience and cleverness?

It’s always been my hot pseudo-take because I could never get into the book once I realized it has the narrative maturity of a 12-year-old’s Trapper Keeper doodle.
I knowww..... and I knew it was going to keep the style early on. It didn't warm on :(

Well, now I'm free to read something else, and there's still a lot of Kurt Vonnegut and Ursula Le Guin unread by me :)
