The Israeli Defense Ministry announced on 7 November that it signed a deal for the acquisition of 25 next-generation F-15 fighter jets from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing, worth $5.2 billion.
The ministry said the agreement is part of a larger "aid package" approved earlier this year by Washington. Tel Aviv stated that the package included an optional 25 extra warplanes.
