As the spring approches more tiny insects show up in the garden....I wonder if it realizes that this time it landed on a plastic flower...
This reminded me of "Fake plastic trees" by RadioHead, just a small life resting on something that only pretends to be real.
ladybird on a plastic flower
Carnivorous ladybird beetles won't try to eat a plastic flower so its less likely to harm them than it would someone like a bee, but there won't be many aphids to eat from one either.
Speaking of bees, this week I’ve seen many dead ones in my garden and along a nearby road. I think a neighbor or the local fumigation services might be using something that kills them. There are also fruit fields nearby, so it could be the herbicides… I live next to a natural park, but the surrounding areas are agricultural. I don’t know how to find out more, and the neighbors don’t seem to care. Maybe local beekeepers know something… This situation really upsets me
Don'f forget insecticides (notably neo-nicotinoids) used on agricuiltural fields. These are just as deadly to bees as to the targetted insects
I'll find out
